Dr. Taylor and his son Max were on a paleontology expedition in Africa when they stumbled upon ancient stone slabs depicting dinosaurs. These artifacts inadvertently summoned the dinosaurs, who in turn, called upon Max and his friends Zoe and Rex for assistance. The trio soon discovered that Dr. Z, leader of the rival organization Alpha Gang, had traveled through time to hunt down these prehistoric creatures. The Alpha Gang's intent was to harness the power of the dinosaurs to take control of the world, prompting Max, Rex, and Zoe to embark on a globe-trotting quest to thwart their plans.
