Dr. Senbei Norimaki resides in Penguin Village, where humans coexist with talking animals and objects. As an inventor, Senbei is working towards creating a robot girl, and his efforts ultimately yield Arale, a creation with some notable flaws. Arale struggles with nearsightedness and lacks common sense, but she does possess superhuman strength. Unfortunately, her well-intentioned but misguided actions frequently cause problems for her neighbors.
