Reiji Ozora, a self-proclaimed "quitter," never sees anything through to its conclusion. That is, until his friend Maiko introduces him to the virtual reality game Dragon Drive, where players are matched with a dragon tailored to their unique characteristics. To Reiji's disappointment, his assigned dragon, Chibi, is a small, unassuming creature that seems more suited to a child's plaything than a potent ally. However, it's soon revealed that Chibi is actually the rarest dragon in the game, and Reiji's initial indifference gives way to a newfound sense of purpose as he trains both himself and Chibi to take on the challenges ahead.
