Kimagure Orange☆Road: Ano Hi ni Kaeritai follows the main characters, Kyosuke, Madoka, and Hikaru, as they near the end of their high school careers and face decisions about college. Kyosuke and Madoka wish to attend the same college, but their plans require navigating college admissions processes. Meanwhile, Hikaru, still in her junior year, provides support to Kyosuke. As Madoka expresses her own feelings to Kyosuke, he must decide which girl he truly cares for.
