Rail of the Star: A True Story of Children

Kobayashi Chitose's story, a true and autobiographical account, unfolds in Japanese-occupied North Korea during World War II. Chitose's ordinary life is disrupted by the war, affecting her family in various ways, from her initial disappointment over not getting her desired school backpack to her father's enlistment as a soldier.
