Batman is transported from Arkham Asylum to Feudal Japan, where he finds himself in the middle of a rural road with samurai closing in. He's soon on the hunt for a way back home, but his investigation leads him to discover that the Joker has taken control of the asylum's remnants, now known as Arkham Castle, and rules over a part of Japan with an iron fist. Batman must navigate this new environment, relying on his wits and gadget belt, to reactivate the Quake Engine and find a way back to Gotham.
