Inu-Oh, a young boy born with unusual physical features, is isolated from society due to the adults' fear and misunderstanding. He eventually meets Tomona, a skilled blind biwa player, who introduces him to the world of music. As Tomona plays his instrument, Inu-Oh discovers he has a remarkable talent for dance, and the two form an unlikely partnership. Through their music, they gain fame but also confront unresolved questions about their own pasts, including Tomona's blindness and Inu-Oh's unusual birth characteristics.
