Aya Okamura lives alone in her apartment in near-future Japan, her mother having worked overseas since her childhood. Her aging father, Kouji, and their cat, Mii-san, remain in their family home. Aya's daily routine involves working and lying to her father about her schedule, having declined his dinner invitation earlier that day. A call from her father later that night brings unexpected news that may reunite their separated family.
